Introduction
The Rainman motor valve is engineered as a premium, long-lasting component. On rare occasions, however, a brand new valve can be too tight for the motor to break it loose the very first time it operates. This is not a sign of a faulty valve, and it is not a routine maintenance issue — it is a one-off corrective procedure. Once the valve has been manually released for the first time, this will not reoccur.

Step by Step
- Remove the 4 small 2.5mm Allen screws to separate the actuator from the valve body.

While the valve is apart, the first step is to confirm that the actuator is functioning correctly. Activate the autoflush timer; this will attempt to drive the actuator and allow you to check whether it rotates as expected.
- If the actuator is functioning, use pliers to gently turn the valve stem and manually turn it forward and backward a few times to massage it loose.
- Once the stem turns freely, return it to its original position as shown in the picture.
- Reassemble the valve back onto the actuator and tighten the four Allen screws.
Your motor valve is now ready to be reinstalled and will operate normally going forward.
