A watermaker is not a purchase you want to think about again for a decade or more, so every decision we make is aimed at that decade rather than the day of the sale. Our robust watermakers incorporate elegantly simple designs for ease of use and low maintenance. With high build quality and our focus on customer service, you can expect many years of reliable service from your Rainman.
CONFIGURATION
Flexibility
One core technology, three ways to fit it to your boat. Portable systems stow in a locker and need no installation at all, so they can move between vessels or come home for the winter. Modular systems split into separate components you can tuck into the spaces you actually have. Framed systems mount as a single compact unit where there is room for one.
CAPACITY & POWER
Wide Product Range
Outputs run from 34 litres per hour (9 gallons per hour) up to 264 lph (70 gph), powered by AC electric, DC electric or petrol. That spread covers a cruising couple making water for two, through to charter yachts, commercial vessels and land based applications, so the specification can follow the application rather than the other way around.
COST OF OWNERSHIP
Value
The initial purchase price is only part of the overall cost. Rainman uses non-proprietary filters and other consumables, so you can source replacements locally from any supplier.
Maintenance requirements are low and the initial price is competitive. Together they keep the life cycle cost down, and that is what matters once the system is aboard.
AVAILABILITY
Reliability
We build with quality components chosen for years of service, and we design pumps that can be maintained without specialist tools or a trip to a service agent. Simple systems have fewer things to go wrong, and you can usually carry out the required maintenance yourself.
All electronics have full manual backup. A failed sensor or circuit board slows you down; it does not leave you without water.
WHO SPECIFIES US
Trusted Brand
Charter fleets are the hardest test a watermaker faces with long daily run hours. In bareboat operations there is also a new operator every week who has not read the manual. Rainman systems are well proven under such conditions.
Boat builders specify Rainman on new vessels, and charter operators standardise their fleets on us. When asked why, the answer is as often about the support provided by the company as the equipment itself.
WHEREVER YOU GO
Global Support
More than 90 dealers around the world provide Rainman sales and support. Behind them sits our own support team spanning multiple time zones, along with a comprehensive online self-help resource. That depth means support does not rest on any one individual, so it holds up regardless of who is on leave or otherwise unavailable.
Why Similar Looking Watermakers Aren’t
Watermakers can look similar at a glance, which makes it tempting to assume the differences are negligible. You are not just buying pumps, motors and membranes, but investing in a long term relationship with your manufacturer. Rainman delivers the best overall value through design, build quality, in house testing, aftersales support, and long term production consistency.
