If the Rainman high pressure hose is difficult to insert into the quick connect socket, it may be that the o-ring requires replacing. The o-ring required is #110, with nominal specifications of 3/8” ID, 9/16” OD, 3/32” cross section. Follow these instructions to change the o-ring.
- A small sharp hook is required, which may be made of strong steel wire with sharp end.
- Hook the o-ring inside and lift it out. Don’t be afraid to damage it as it is going to be replaced.
- Use a blunt tool to push the new o-ring into place. The tool should be made of softer material, such as brass or timber, to avoid damaging the o- ring or other internal parts.
- Push the new o-ring in sufficiently deep so it sits in the same spot as the old o-ring.
- Looking into the socket, make sure the o-ring is nicely round and not obstructing the centre hole. If it does not look round, reseat it so it fits correctly.
