Portable AC Rainman watermaker used on Beneteau Oceanis 41 (Turks & Caicos)

After arriving in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, Chilu and Eze — the couple behind the Chez Team YouTube channel — needed fresh water fast. They had been at sea for a week, and a storm was closing in. It was the perfect time to put their new Rainman Portable watermaker to the test.

The AC-powered system was unpacked and assembled on deck. The crew appreciated the thoughtful design and quality of the components, including the pressure supply unit (PSU) and reverse osmosis (RO) unit. The RO unit features two 40″ membranes, delivering high output with minimal maintenance.

Setup was straightforward, with the intake hose positioned carefully to ensure clean water. The system began producing potable water at a rate of 140 litres per hour — a major upgrade for life aboard. The unit’s portability meant it could be stowed when not in use, yet deployed quickly when needed.

Having reliable access to fresh water meant the end of storing bulky bottles and constant planning around resupply. With guests joining them in future locations, knowing they could produce clean water on demand was a big relief. The unit didn’t just save space — it made life aboard more relaxed and self-sufficient.

Well done Chez Team!
